I, Omarova Farida Appaevna, was born in the city of Makhachkala, Russia, graduated from the Makhachkala Medical Institute in 1978. I worked as a district doctor, ambulance doctor in the Institute’s clinic, than as a head of the therapeutic department of the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I had a specialization from clinical pharmacology and cardiology.
Since December 1997, after the nostrification tests that confirmed my diploma in the Czech Republic, I work as a spa doctor, firstly in the Bristol Group, and since 2005 in Savoy. I do not know what exactly medicine is for me, weather it is work, hobby or just my life. Someone said, the doctor should be the one who can’t help but treat. As a clinician, I tended to underestimate the importance of sanatorium treatment and prevention. Mostly I was solving acute problems and did not look any further than supporting medications.
I fell in love with the city of Karlovy Vary immediately; its beautiful architecture is surrounded by an amazing forest. I understood why people have been traveling here for more than 600 years. Goethe wrote that he felt isolated from all human miseries there. I studied balneology, read a lot of literature, including antic one about the Karlovy Vary mineral water treatments. Of course, I was lucky to start with the chief doctor of Bristol, Dr. Špišák, who always shared his experience, organized seminars and conferences.
Today I work in a clinical, in the full sense of the word, spa hotel, which offers great opportunities in diagnostics, treatment of a variety of diseases and cooperation with leading clinics and specialists of the Czech Republic and Germany, which, of course, makes me as a doctor immensely satisfied.
